The Musical Box, Stratford-on-Avon – Open Day! Free lessons in singing, guitar, ukulele and bass guitar lessons.
Visitors to the Open Day will be able to tour the studio, meet the teachers and take advantage of free lessons in an instrument of their choice.

Ryton Pools Country Park
With Free Entry (remember change for the car park though £3 0r £3.50 depending on time of year), Ryton Pools is a 100 acre park with great facilities including two play areas, toilets and plenty of bike riding paths to explore! There are always lots of fun events happening so check out the info below for up to date listings.

British Motor Museum
February FUTURES half-term
Dates: 15 February – 1 March
Fuel their imagination this half term with a range of FUTURE themed family activities. Drop into our Learning Space to design and make your car of the future using recycled materials, then light it up with LED headlights. Explore the Museum with our new family trail or join one of our daily family tours. Visit the ‘The Car. The Future. Me.’ exhibition to investigate the future of transport!
Our ever popular Science Shows are back daily from Monday 17 to Sunday 23 February exploring POWER and, on Thursday 20 February, for one day only, the STEM ambassadors from MOD Kineton will be delivering ‘Rover Robots’.
All activities are included in Museum admission. A family ticket is just £40 for an annual pass.

Make and Play Engineers – Pixel Art
Wednesdays 19 | 26 February
Pixel art is the theme for our Make and Play Engineers sessions during this February half term. Pixel art is used to make characters for computer games. Without using computer screens, explore patterns, contrasts and colours as they would be used in pixel art. Use all our big resources (from carpet tubes to pipes) and build extraordinary creatures that could have escaped from computer games. Find yourself playing with balance, gravity and tension while doing so.
Drop in | Free. Please ask at Reception for the exact location of the session. Designed for age 2 – 8, but all are welcome
Please note, children must always be accompanied by an adult.

Herbert Art Gallery & Museum
February Half Term | Wonderful Weaving
The Herbert Art Gallery are celebrating the weaving history of Coventry with two weeks of colourful, woven craft activities.
Saturday 15 February – Saturday 29 February 2020 (excluding Sundays)
Daily activities:
Saturday 15 | Monday 17 | Tuesday 18: Cardboard Circle Weaving – A fun way for children to learn weaving, using cardboard circles as the loom and discovering how to weave colourful wool in and out of spokes.
Wednesday 19 | Thursday 20: Cardboard Loom Coasters – Create a stripy ‘mug rug’ coaster using square cardboard looms and learn – an easy method for weaving patterns.
Friday 21 | Saturday 22: Woven Paper Plate Bowls – Use recyclable materials to make a stunning woven bowl. Perfect for storing little trinkets and treasures in.
Monday 24 | Tuesday 25: Cup Weaving Pen Pots – Add a splash of colour to your desk with a woven pen pot made from paper cups and wool.
Wednesday 26 February | Thursday 27: Woven CD Dreamcatcher – Create a gorgeous dreamcatcher from old CD’s to hang above your bed.
Friday 28 | Saturday 29: Trollen Wheel Weaving – We’re going back in time to the days of the Vikings with this Nordic inspired activity. Make a beautiful woven bracelet using a trollen wheel.
Designed for age 3+, but all are welcome

Warwick Racecourse – Friday 21st February 2020
Entrance to Warwick Racecourse is just £5 on Friday 21st February. Children go FREE with every paying adult!

Redwings Horse Sanctuary
Open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only 10 – 4. Redwings is a lovely place to visit with the children where you can see horses and donkeys being looked after by the sanctuary. You can ‘adopt’ a horse and enjoy the small cafe and playground. Redwings is all outside so wait for good weather.
Hatton Adventure World
Slithering into Hatton from 15th to 23rd February 2020
FOR ONE WEEK ONLY and by popular demand we welcome the return of Giant Snakes to Hatton. With a mixture of Reticulated Pythons, Burmese Pythons, Tegu, Boa Constrictors to name but a few, you won’t want to miss out on this slithering selection of serpents! Kenilworth Castle – Knights and Princesses
Saturday 15th – Sun 23rd February 2020.
Get set for a truly historic half term and discover what it was like to live, work and fight in a real-life castle. Whether it’s learning to sword fight or transforming into a little lord or lady, there’s plenty of hands-on fun to keep the kids entertained. And once the little adventurers have put their skills to the test, let imaginations run wild as you explore Kenilworth’s mighty castle walls.

Do you National Trust? There’s loads of local National Trust properties in Warwickshire, Baddesley Clinton, Packwood House, Charlecote Park , Coughton Court.
Run free at:
St Nicks Park, Warwick – With large playground, cafe, crazy golf, fun fair in summer months, skateboard ramps and a nice measured mile walk St Nicks is a popular choice. – Pay for parking.
Oakley Woods – Yes there’s a cemetery there but park to the left and you can explore beautiful woodland for miles and miles, dog friendly and the seasons are stunning with snowdrops in winter and bluebells around Easter. Build dens, explore & remember your wellies! Free – no parking charge.
Victoria Park, Leamington Spa – Playground, sandpit for small people, skate ramps and a circular path perfect for biking, scooting and running off steam. – Free Parking
If you’re heading to Victoria Park you can head over the road to Foundry Wood where you can spend an hour or so exploring woodland and watching the trains go by.
Ryton Pools it’s in our guide above but Ryton Pools deserves a special mention aside from the activities they run during the holiday, it’s a beautiful place to visit all year round, again perfect for bike rides, it has two big adventure playgrounds a cafe and gorgeous long walks. Perfect for running off steam. Just pay for parking and enjoy.

Go Plane spotting at Sheldon Country Park, right next to Birmingham airport, the planes fly right over your head! Perfect place for a picnic in nicer weather and it also has a children’s play area and cafe.
Salcey Forest – About an hour’s drive from Leamington Spa, Salcey Forest is a Forestry Commission forest which has an adventure playground, cafe, long stunning walks with opportunities to off road, build dens and climb. We love it because its dog, pushchair, bike and scooter friendly, Just pay for parking £4 all day.
Cannock Chase Forest – Woodland walks, the Midlands best bike trails and adventure playground. Cannock Chase is highly recommended for a fun day out a little further afield. You can even Go Ape if you fancy extra adventure!
