The Quite Remarkable Adventures of the Owl and the Pussycat
The owl and the pussycat are setting sail for the Belgrade Theatre in a brand new musical adaptation for families this February half-term. Based on the best-selling book by Eric Idle and inspired by Edward Lear’s poem, The Quite Remarkable Adventures of the Owl and the Pussycat has been adapted for the stage by Dougal Irvine.

Toddler Trundle at Ryton Pools Country Park
A weekly event for the tiniest of tiddlers! Leaf fun, stories, mud pies and collecting treasures will be among some of our activities designed for the smallest naturalists. After the walk and activities, head back to The Courtyard Cafe for refreshments (extra cost for refreshments). A quarterly programme is available from the visitor centre giving details for each weeks activities.

Frosty Fairy and Elf Adventure at Ryton Pools Country Park
Come and make a magic willow wand and discover what things the naughty goblins have been up to in the woods. See if you can find the key to the magic kingdom and use some wishing magic to see if the fairies are about in fairy forest.

Fantastic Felted Mini-beasts at Ryton Pools Country Park

Bird Box Building at Ryton Pools Country Park
Make a nest box for this year’s nesting birds. Find out some fascinating facts about these birds and where’s the best place to put up your nest box. Take look around the courtyard using our homes trail sheet with our bird watching specialist Ranger to see who lives where. Up to two children can make 1 box between them.

Friday 24 February
Campfire and Dens at Ryton Pools Country Park
Come and have some fun discovering how to design and build your own woodland shelter that’s camouflaged, big enough for your team and waterproof…. ish!! The Rangers will be on hand to provide tips, materials and help. When all the shelters are built we will light a small fire and toast some marshmallows.

Jephsons Jungle Club – Tuesday 21st February 10-12.30
Join us for our half-term Jephson’s Jungle Club in the Glasshouse, Jephson Gardens. Make a bird feeder for your garden and create your own bird.
Turn up any time during the event; the activity lasts around 15 minutes. Activity is suitable for 4-10 years olds but younger children are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. –

Market Hall Museum – Grand Re-Opening Week
The Museum at Market Hall has been closed for refurbishment and re-opens on Saturday 18th February just in time for half term. There are plenty of activities for children during half term such as Arty Tots on Tues 21st, Jurassic Beasts on Wednesday 22nd, STEAMpunk Spectacular on Friday 24th.
