One of the biggest reasons I created Take It From Mummy.com was to continue raising money for our charity, Warwick Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit. I think it’s really important to support local charities and we are in a very lucky position to be able to help.
So far we have raised over £4000 for the special care baby unit which you can see via our JustGiving Page.
A large part of our charity donations comes from the reviews that we do on this website. Many fabulous companies have sent us their wonderful baby & child related items for our Mum’s panel to review. Our Mums then donate onto our just giving page to keep the product. This means that everyone can see every single donation and also that our charity can claim the gift aid on top of the donation.
Besides our reviews I have also organised a number of local events such as a coffee morning, a Christmas Fayre a party and pre-loved sales where the money from the tables goes direct to SCBU. Have a look at the images from our charity events below.
Our latest event took place on Saturday 10th December 2016
We held a charity Christmas Fayre to help raise a further £1000 for another bed for our chair bed appeal – see link here we hit our target and so also managed to donate £399.70 to the Special Care Baby Unit. Another wonderful day and a HUGE bottle of wine for me afterwards! There’s a blog dedicated to this event here where you can see more pictures of the fun.
Mum Knows Best Halloween Party October 2016

Run Like A Girl Superhero Fun Run
On Tuesday 29th March 2016 the ‘Run Like A Girl’ set out on their charity mission!
The team were running as part of the ongoing “Challenge a Mummy to raise some money” campaign which aims to raise £1000 for Warwick Hospital’s Maternity Unit to enable them to buy one of 5 needed specialist chairs which fold out into a bed allowing Dads to stay over night in those first precious hours.
The team of ladies from the group dressed up as superheroes and set upon an ‘out and back’ challenge where they were to run out as far as possible for 20 minutes and then turn around wherever they were and try to make it back to the start in 19 minutes! At the end of the run each team members’ total distance was recorded and added together to make a combined distance travelled. The event raised our fundraising total to £490.00! We are so so happy! Thank you RLAG
