Lambing and Animals Weekend 2020 at Moreton Morrell College a lovely idea for Mother’s Day!
Saturday 21 – Sunday 22 March 2020 – 10.30am – 4.00pm
(Last entry on each day is 3.00pm)
This March, join us for the perfect family day out! Come and see the baby lambs at Nethermorton Farm, Moreton Morrell during our annual Lambing & Animals Weekend. Meet Farmer Henry, climb up on a tractor and find out all about how we look after our lambs and ewes. There’s a chance for you to get up close to some of our lambs and exotic animals – we’ve got meerkats, raccoon dogs and lots of other cute characters for you to meet.
You will get the chance to:
- Meet our new lambs – and if you’re lucky, see one being born!
- Enjoy a tour of our Animal Centre and see meerkats, porcupines, coatis and other exotic animals
- Sit on a tractor (the perfect photo opportunity)
- Visit our Farmer’s Market* (this includes our Pershore Plant Centre stall, as well as the chance to sample our award-winning juice)
- Explore the Adventure Trail… and much more!

Compton Verney Easter Trail
Tuesday 7th April, – Sun 19th April, 11am – 4pm
Head to Compton Verney this Easter for fun family activities. Take on the Egg Drop Challenge, track down all the escaped animals from their Folk Art Collection in the Easter trail, get creative with a range of crafty activities and enjoy games inspired by nature in the Forest School.

Compton Verney Forest School
Thu 9 & Thu 16 Apr, 11am – 3pm
Enjoy activities and games inspired by nature in the Forest School. Leaves, berries, cones and feathers are great tools for making your own artwork and you can add to our big, collaborative weave through the trees.
£3 per child, babes in arms free.
Ryton Pools Country Park
With Free Entry (remember change for the car park though £3 0r £3.50 depending on time of year), Ryton Pools is a 100 acre park with great facilities including two play areas, toilets and plenty of bike riding paths to explore! There are always lots of fun events happening so check out the info below for up to date listings.

British Motor Museum, Easter 2020
4 – 26 April
Join us for some ‘Mini Madness’ this Easter holidays. You can follow the Fix it! family trail, join a family tour with our very own Mini factory costumed characters, and even design your own Mini in our air drying clay workshops!
Visit over the Easter Weekend 10 – 13 April and you can enjoy a traditional Easter Egg hunt with a bit of a Mini twist! Collect eggs around the Museum to claim your reward.
Becketts Farm Easter Events – Saturday 4th April – Sunday 19th April 2020
Entry is £1 per person, and under 1’s are free!*
Spring is on the horizon and we cannot wait for the arrival of the lambs, chicks and other animals at Becketts Farm.
Come along and welcome new chicks into the world and say hello to some of our other animal guests including lambs, ewes and pygmy goats! It will be under a covered marquee, so don’t let the weather put you off.
*There’s no chick handling or lamb feeding this year.

Foundry Wood, Leamington Spa – Easter themed creativity afternoon – Thursday 9th April 2020
1-2pm Make your own no-sew sock bunny £5
Age 5-15
All materials and Easter snack available
Children will be show how to construct a sock bunny using, a lovely bright coloured sock, rice and a few tricky bows tied in to place.
1-4pm Make your own Easter Card with recycled materials. £2

Unsupervised Activity
Help yourself to the materials available and let your creativity run wild!! Creating art from recycled materials is always fun, as you are giving new life to something that has been used before.
3-4pm Learn to dye Easter eggs with natural dyes and leaves. £8
Age 5-15
You will learn the lovely technique of hand tying eggs with sting and boiling them in natural dye baths
Take home a lovely 6 pack of eggs to share with your loved ones for Easter.
Join us for the afternoon and pay £10 inc all 3 activities.
Children under 8 must be supervised by parents in the woods.

Redwings Horse Sanctuary
Open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only 10 – 4. Redwings is a lovely place to visit with the children where you can see horses and donkeys being looked after by the sanctuary. You can ‘adopt’ a horse and enjoy the small cafe and playground. Redwings is all outside so wait for good weather.

Do you National Trust? There’s loads of local National Trust properties in Warwickshire, Baddesley Clinton, Packwood House, Charlecote Park , Coughton Court.
Run free at:
St Nicks Park, Warwick – With large playground, cafe, crazy golf, fun fair in summer months, skateboard ramps and a nice measured mile walk St Nicks is a popular choice. – Pay for parking.
Oakley Woods – Yes there’s a cemetery there but park to the left and you can explore beautiful woodland for miles and miles, dog friendly and the seasons are stunning with snowdrops in winter and bluebells around Easter. Build dens, explore & remember your wellies! Free – no parking charge.
Victoria Park, Leamington Spa – Playground, sandpit for small people, skate ramps and a circular path perfect for biking, scooting and running off steam. – Free Parking
If you’re heading to Victoria Park you can head over the road to Foundry Wood where you can spend an hour or so exploring woodland and watching the trains go by.
Ryton Pools it’s in our guide above but Ryton Pools deserves a special mention aside from the activities they run during the holiday, it’s a beautiful place to visit all year round, again perfect for bike rides, it has two big adventure playgrounds a cafe and gorgeous long walks. Perfect for running off steam. Just pay for parking and enjoy.

Go Plane spotting at Sheldon Country Park, right next to Birmingham airport, the planes fly right over your head! Perfect place for a picnic in nicer weather and it also has a children’s play area and cafe.
Salcey Forest – About an hour’s drive from Leamington Spa, Salcey Forest is a Forestry Commission forest which has an adventure playground, cafe, long stunning walks with opportunities to off road, build dens and climb. We love it because its dog, pushchair, bike and scooter friendly, Just pay for parking £4 all day.
Cannock Chase Forest – Woodland walks, the Midlands best bike trails and adventure playground. Cannock Chase is highly recommended for a fun day out a little further afield. You can even Go Ape if you fancy extra adventure!
