Monday 29th
Southam Carnival – At 12.00pm the parade of floats will line up in Wood Street Car Park along with any walkers. The floats and walkers will be judged by the Town Mayor. Everyone will then move off at 12.30pm to parade around the town.
Down on the recreational grounds you will find lots of stalls. There are also a number of activities that are free, they are The Climbing Wall, The Laser Tag Game, Crazy Golf and a Soft Play area for the really young ones. In the arena The Mighty Smith will be giving a display of his immense strength, he has 2 shows, the first at 1.30pm and the second at 3.00pm, there will also be displays by Southam Gymnasts and The Secret Garden.

Foundry Wood Activities
Foundry Wood is a managed access community woodland. Through volunteer work parties the site is fully accessible with paths and facilities for all to use. If you have small people who like trains, they will love watching the trains zoom past from the top of the wood and you can even take your dog for a walk through the woods or build a den. A lovely little place to visit if you have an hour to kill, we advise parking in Victoria Park and walking across.
The woodland is open usually between 10am – 5pm for adventures.
HALF TERM STORY WALK IN FOUNDRY WOOD
01/06/2017 – 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm- Join professional storyteller Pyn Stockman for a lively, magical storytelling adventure inspired by Foundry Wood.
Bring your drama skills and get involved in this interactive storytelling performance.

Family Parties Bouncy Castle & Soft Play
We’ll be in our usual spot for the Whitsun Half Term, for 5 days, starting on Monday 29th May, through to Friday 2nd June.
We’re going to be asking for a suggested donation of £1 per child, per day, as we know lots of you like to come back more than once a day. The donation is completely optional and you can just come and play for free if you prefer. 🙂
All money collected will go directly to the SCBU.

British Motor Museum
May Half Term at the British Motor Museum 29th May – 2nd June
This May half term is all about animation, and we’ve got an exciting opportunity for you to make your own short animated film with a motoring twist!
Create a storyboard and build a model car to star in your animation using Animate It!, the easy-to-use stop motion animation software developed by Kudlian Software and Aardman – the world famous Animation studio and creators of family favourites such as Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Morph.

Young Bushcrafter at Ryton Pools Country Park
Fun Bushcraft session led by two of the Rangers at Ryton Pools Country Park. Activities include fire lighting, whittling, cordage making, location games and shelter building. The session will include a campfire baked potato, handmade dough sticks, popcorn and marshmallows. Parents wanting to join in on the baked potato feast can, at a cost of £2.50 per adult. Suitable for children ages 7 years and above. Please bring your own potato fillings and a drink.

Wednesday 31st May
Toddler Trundle at Ryton Pools Country Park
A weekly event for the tiniest of tiddlers! Leaf fun, stories, mud pies and collecting treasures will be among some of our activities designed for the smallest naturalists. After the walk and activities, head back to The Courtyard Cafe for refreshments (extra cost for refreshments). A quarterly programme is available from the visitor centre giving details for each weeks activities.

Beautiful Felted Butterflies and Moths Workshop at Ryton Pools Country Park
Come and learn the wonderful craft of felt making with artist Ursula Westwood. Create a beautiful picture in felt of either a butterfly or a moth, by looking at their design, colour and pattern. Jephsons Jungle Club
Tuesday 30th May
Glasshouse, Jephson Gardens – 10am-12.30pm
Meet some tropical creepy crawlies and make a mini beast craft. Turn up and join in at any time during the session. Activity takes around 15 minutes, suitable for 4-10 year olds.

Warwick Library Lego Club
Tuesday 30th May – 15:45 – 17:15 – Warwick Library and Information Centre, Market Place, Warwick , CV34 4RL
Lego club is FREE for children aged 8-11 years old. Parent/Guardian just needs to be present at the beginning and end of the session to sign their child in and out. Youger children aged 6-7 are welcome but will need parent present for the whole session.
It will involve storytelling and creative fun with Lego and there will be a different theme/activity each session.
There are limited places available so book a ticket now for each child attending to avoid disappointment.
As this session is during our Fantastic Fun With Words Festival it will be themed around fairy tales. Castles, beanstalks, dragons, fairies, let’s create a magical build!

Jurassic Kingdom – Birmingham
Jurassic Kingdom continues its UK wide tour to Birmingham Botanical Gardens, opening on the 20th May 2017 and closing on the 4th June 2017. It will be open daily during these dates and makes a fascinating and educational day out for families. The event will be open from 10am to 6pm daily with last entry at 5pm. Once inside the event visitors can stay as long as they like.
