I would like to thank the Run Like A Girl team and especially organisers Lauren Gregory, Rebecca Chumun and Liv Boucher for pledging their time to help us achieve our fundraising target and also Ardencote Manor who are always there to help support our charity. I’m sure the hospital and many many future parents will be delighted!
Everyone is doing their bit and we really appreciate your donations, so PLEASE dig deep, here’s why….
We are raising money to buy chairs that fold down into beds on Swan Ward.. Currently there are 5 side rooms and only one has a chair that converts into a bed so that partners can stay after the birth of their baby. For many this would just enable both parents to enjoy that special time after the birth, but more importantly for some women who have had a difficult labour this would enable their partner to stay and provide additional help and support in those crucial hours/days after the birth.
The beds are are specially made and have to stand up to the hospitals infection control criteria and therefore are costly at £1000 each.
If you’re a Mummy and you want to join in our fundraising we would LOVE to have you on board! If you’re struggling to think of something to get sponsored for, why not ask your friends and family what they think would be a challenge for you. You just need to have completed your fundraising my 1st May 2016.
We can’t wait to hear all your stories and will keep everyone updated on our blog.
