Today we held our third Toddle Waddle!

A Toddle Waddle is a short sponsored walk for the under 5’s to help raise money for Meningitis Now. This charity is close to many hearts and I heard a couple of truly touching stories today from two of our amazing Mummies who took part. I hope they don’t mind me mentioning them. One had very sadly lost her Auntie to the striking infection and another whose beautiful baby girl who had meningitis when she was just a few weeks old. She was there with us to prove that it can sometimes have a happy ending. These and many other stories made me realise just how important it is to help support this wonderful charity and that it can happen to anyone, young or old, at any time.

It was quieter than usual on the day but that didn’t stop us from having a great time!

 There were T shirts!  And cakes! and fish!  And medals! and colouring!

Last year we raised £600.00 in our Toddle Waddle and every year I hope we can beat the previous total. I am so proud to say that the running total so far is….

£660.00!!

AND there is still some more sponsorship money to come in! We will keep you all updated as the total rises!

I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all the families who took part today and made such an effort to come along, also to those who sponsored them! We would like to send our best wishes to those who wanted to come but couldn’t make it on the day, we had three families struck down with chicken pox, lots of love to you all.

Finally I would like to thank Zoe Smith, my wonderful friend who always makes such an effort to help out at our charity events, Zoe made some wonderful artwork and all the cakes today and I am so grateful (as were the children)!
